Foraging Courses
in Scotland

Where I feel most at home

The core of my business is running foraging experiences for the public. They are hearty and full of love for the land, sea and everything in between. I like to help my guests to feel as comfortable being outside as they do at home.

Introductory Courses

Through the seasons

This is the original course for beginners or those looking for a refresher. You will learn all about the best of the season onsite, harvesting ethics, preservation techniques and cooking tips to make the most of your wild larder. There will be opportunities to ask questions and share experiences. This ends with

Seaweed Sessions

You may have noticed the popularity for seaweed rising over the last few years and this is for a very good reason as they are some of the best natural resources we have and they taste great! Scotland is home to some of the best seaweeds in the world. This is your opportunity to learn all about their uses, history, identification, harvesting, ethics, preservation and cooking techniques.

Ancient Foods

The most recent addition to course offerings is a step back in time to look at the cultural history of wild foods and how we have relied on our environment to survive and thrive. Looking back can help us look forward.

Current Locations

Glen Nevis, Lochaber

I am running several mini workshops as part of the Fort William Mountain Festival and what better place to run them than under the shadow of the mountains themselves.

North Ballachulish, Lochaber

As my favourite site to run courses from you will find plenty of opportunities to join me here. The location combines mixed woodland, meadow and lochside coast.

Arisaig, Lochaber

Working alongside the local Community Trust at the Land, Sea and Islands Centre I have found the perfect site to run seaweed foraging courses for you.

Luing, Slate Isles

South of Oban is home to several beautiful islands known as the Slate Isles. Join me at the Atlantic Island centre for a fantastic time exploring seaweeds and more.

The National Trust Visitor Centre, Glencoe

Join a Wild Food Lore walk and hear all about historical food in the glen. This new addition for 2026 is currently running through the summer months only.

Find links to all my courses below. Information on private bookings can be found here
